| Is there a code of conduct or any rules? |
Revised: 28/1/2006, 17/1/2006, 28/11/2005 Welcome to Stuck in a Doorway, the world's largest OCD support group. We hope you will have a pleasant and constructive stay. These rules are here to keep order and you are advised to take note. We have members in over 200 countries where different cultures have different ways of life. Your consideration of these rules will make the forums a pleasant community for all. Thank you. Please note, the rules may be changed from time to time without notice, although we will always draw attention to important updates in the forums. 1) Search first! If you are trying to find out something which you think may have been covered in a previous post, use the search function. This prevents duplicate messages. 2) Follow standard netiquette: Feel free to browse through the forums before becoming a member. 3) Post in the correct forum: Administrators and moderators will move posts which are posted in the wrong forum. If it is your first post, please make it in the 'Introduce yourself' forum. You will receive a warm welcome and find it is a good place to make new friends and get a feel for the message board before posting proper. 4) Be friendly to other members and treat moderators with respect. Flaming, arguing and insults will not be tolerated. Moderators should be alerted to grievances or disputes, or ultimately, an administrator. Please do not ignore moderators' requests, they are instructed to lock posts where their requests are ignored. 5) Do not post pointless messages, spam or adverts. Promoting products or services that help sufferers is permitted, but must be based on personal experience. If unsure, contact a moderator or administrator. 6) Please respect copyright. If you want to show work that has been created by someone else, please link to it rather than copy it. 7) Images should be kept to a maximum of 500 pixels along the longest edge. 8) Post messages only once. You may cross-link to it from another forum, if you think it will be missed. 9) Titles should accurately and briefly describe the content of the post. 'Please read' is an example of a bad title as it gives no indication of what the post is about. Moderators and administrators may change the title of your post if it is too vague. Remember, accurate descriptions are more likely to attract the right respondents. Do not use capital letters. 10) Usernames can only be changed by an administrator, who will add the legend 'formerly xxxxx' under your new name. You may apply to have this removed after 28 days. In exceptional circumstances, we will changes usernames for members without reference to their original usernames at our discretion. Members discovered to have more than one account will be locked or deleted. 11) Opinions expressed on this message board are not necessarily those of Stuck in a Doorway, its webmaster, administrators or moderators. 12) Members indemnify Stuck in a Doorway against any legal action which occurs as a result of a post they make. Thank you. Webmaster |
