Hi the second link is not working for me as well, so I am not sure where I can introduce myself?

Hello to everyone!

I am from Australia and have had major OCD in obsessive thoughts (about past situations and decisions and what people think of me) for the past few years.

They are now pretty unbearable and constant, but I am trying to deal (mantras, praying, mediation etc). It just gets so bad esp the last few years where I can 'multi-task' them and keep them going when at work and at home.

Thought this room may help and hope I can help others somehow.

Don't want to break the rules though! Please let me know if I need to go to another area.

hi there and welcome to SIAD

Sorry you're having trouble with the links ... they may be for the old forum which was archived but I'd have to check with the administrator.

Anyhow you should be able to post in any forum if you go there and start a new thread. As a new user your first few posts wont show untill a moderator has approved them, but after that you'll be able to post freely, it is just a system for catching spam and inappropriate posts. I suggest posting in the Sufferers Lounge area too as that tends to get more viewers.

Welcome again and there are lots of people on this forum offering support and sound advice so you have found a good site and I hope it helps you.

tweaking

I've been taking inositol and 5htp for about 3 months now, My ocd is still here but has improved by about 50% i reckon mostly due to the inositol. I still get the compulsions but when I act on them I am less frantic/anxious and I repeate things fewer times. There really is a dramatic difference. My partner has also noticed although I think he is dubious and reckons inositol is a placebo. The only time it is as bad as before is when I am upset or anxious. I am trying to tweak what I am taking to improve more and more. I have heard that tryptophan works better than 5htp and have ordered some. I am also taking omega 3 and milk thistle. I previosly tried gabba but felt no effect. Has anyone else had success with inositol? I currently taking 12-18g daily.
